Last week, German Music @ SXSW 2024—a project managed by Initiative Musik (the German Music Export Office)—presented a series of events in Austin spotlighting diverse German artists spanning multiple genres. Along with showcases focused on electronic music and indie artists, their series kicked off with a mesmerizing evening of “Modern Classical Music from Germany” at the historic Central Presbyterian Church, featuring performances by piano-based electronic duo Grandbrothers, orchestral pop composer/singer/pianist Lisa Morgenstern, and neoclassical artist Sofi Paez.
We were there to to capture behind-the-scenes interviews and live footage with all three boundary-breaking artists to help document this truly special and unique evening. Check out the recap video below, as well as some photos from the event.
