Once a year now for at least 15 years, a friend from high school texts me, “If it’s good news for people who love bad news, would that mean that the news is objectively good?”—or something to that effect. As the debate still rages on, Modest Mouse have announced an addendum to their 2004 crossover-hit LP Good News for People Who Love Bad News with a 20th-anniversary edition featuring an extended digital track list and a two-LP vinyl set. The former, out April 5, features a collection of new remixes by Dan the Automator, MGMT’s Andrew VanWyngarden, Jacknife Lee, and more, while the latter lands May 17 with a new album cover and discs colored in the iconic baby pink/spring green featured on the original artwork.

The news arrives alongside one of the new remixes: Poolside’s reworking of “Ocean Breathes Salty.” Reimagined as an upbeat electro anthem, the track is almost unrecognizable beyond Isaac Brock’s instantly familiar vocals and starkly existential lyrics. Check that out below, and pre-order the vinyl here.
