Allen Ginsberg’s masterpiece poem “Howl” is celebrating its sixtieth anniversary this year, and to mark the occasion, a hoard of big-time names are gathering for a tribute performance at the Theater at the Ace Hotel tomorrow night, April 7. Directed by Matt Piedmont and produced by acclaimed producer Hal Willner, the affair will feature appearances from Nick Cave, Van Dyke Parks, Devendra Banhart, Macy Gray, Kevin Drew, Courtney Love, and Will Forte, amongst many others, in addition to unannounced special guests (please be David Cross, please be David Cross…).
Just the same as last week’s freaky and amazing Music of David Lynch showcase, proceeds will go towards the David Lynch Foundation, a non-profit aiming to spread the word and practices of transcendental meditation.
