WATCH: Get Your Daily Dose of Psych-Pop with Penicillin Baby and the Zombified Video for “Stick It Out”

The Nashville group is likely a bigger Mr. Show fan than you.

Speaking with Impose Magazine, Jon Conant, the driving force behind the band Penicillin Baby, described the new track “Stick It Out” as being “basically about the world ending, or at least the feeling that it is.” That may be well and true, but in simply taking in the shimmering coat of sunshine-y psych-pop that the song is covered in, you’d be hard-pressed to feel all that apocalyptic.

For the Nashville-based group, this tip-toe dance seems to be par for the course, in fact, as their vaguely sinister-sounding name is actually a reference to an obscure line in a hilarious Mr. Show sketch. Go figure.

For good measure, the video for “Stick It Out” fits the formula as well, inviting you to hangout with a group of seemingly nice and normal looking people, except there’s definitely a bit of an undead-like quality to them…

Penicillin Baby are also setting on a little tour of the Midwest in May. Dates for that below.
