If you’re still figuring out what to do this year to celebrate America’s independence (yay capitalism!), Burger Records is holding their sixth-annual Bay Area Boogaloo festival (following their fourth annual Burgerama festival in Santa Ana earlier this year), and this year it happens to fall on the weekend of July 4.
With the amazing John Waters all lined up to host the festivities, Black Lips, King Khan & BBQ Show, The Mummies, The Gories, Shannon and the Clams, Guantanamo Baywatch, and 5.6.7.8’s were already scheduled to play, and today a few more fun names were announced: Ty Segall’s side-project Fuzz, The Zulus, Legendary Stardust Cowboy, as well as the fluffy-shirt wearing, flamenco-guitar playing legend himself Jonathan Richman. Oh, it’s gonna be a Party in the USA alright.
Tickets are $39 for single day and $59 for a weekend pass, and on sale now.
