Everyone’s favorite marsh-related musician, Swamp Dogg, has recruited Jenny Lewis for a folk-gospel track titled “Count the Days.” On the cut, Lewis sings along with a collection of backing singers who accentuate the lyrics as delightful banjo picking and a skipping bassline murmur below the surface.

The accompanying video features Swamp Dogg in a car reminiscing on old times, including playing in a club in Nashville. Before getting to the studio alongside Lewis, Swamp passes Tammy Wynette and George Jones’ old house. History is alive!

The track is featured on Swamp Dogg’s forthcoming album Blackgrass: From West Virginia to 125th Street, which is out on May 31 via Oh Boy Records. Check out the video for the track below, and pre-order Blackgrass here.
