The thing about epics is that they always take longer to create than you think. On July 28, Titus Andronicus will release The Most Lamentable Tragedy, a 3-LP, 93-minute opus in five parts that follows an unnamed central character as he wanders the streets of New York, encounters his doppelgänger, and succumbs to the changing of the seasons.

It’s been three years since the group released Local Business, so you’d be forgiven for wondering what difference another month or so makes, but today the New Jersey punks released the conciliatory Titus Andronicus Mixtape 2A: Sorry About the Delay. The free mixtape—streaming below and also available for download here—includes several versions of Tragedy‘s “Come On, Siobhan” and lead single “Dimed Out,” as well as no less than seven versions of “Stranded (On My Own)” (which, it bears mentioning, is not a cover of the classic punk song by The Saints).

Give Sorry About the Delay a spin below, and check out the lyric video for “Dimed Out.”

The Most Lamentable Tragedy is out July 28 on Matador.
