Slow-motion Minnesota rockers Low have announced Ones and Sixes, the followup to 2013’s The Invisible Way. The album was co-produced by the band and engineer BJ Burton (S. Carey, Sylvan Esso, Megafaun) at Justin Vernon‘s April Base Studio in Eau Claire, WI.

The first single, “No Comprende,” is the kind of slow-burning torch song that Low have distilled to perfection over the course of their career, pitching Alan Sparhawk’s vocal lead against Mimi Parker’s countermelodies. “In our 20+ years of writing songs, I’ve learned that no matter how escapist, divergent, or even transcendent the creative process feels, the result is more beholden to what is going on at the moment,” Sparhawk said in a statement. “It’s hard to admit that one is so influenced by what is in front of us.  Doesn’t it come from something magical and far away? No, it comes from here. It comes from now.”

Give a listen to “No Comprende” and Ones and Sixes’ cover below, then scroll on to see whether Low will be creating transcendent moments in your town this fall.
