Exactly one year ago today, Grass Widow’s Hannah Lew released Over Me, the debut from her new band Cold Beatone of the most notable groups to remain in San Francisco despite the mass migration of artists out of the city. Having survived what was likely the peak of the inhospitable rent hikes (god willing), they’re still alive and kicking, and they’ve got another album to prove it.

Along with the announcement of Into The Air, the band’s second LP, Cold Beat has also shared “Cracks,” a spaced-out and sinister dirge that finds the group grabbing a synth and stepping into a slightly more profound, architectured direction.
