With summertime in full swing, Salad Boys have shared a track that will fit nicely into any BBQ playlist you currently have in the works. “Dream Date”—the first single from the band’s upcoming debut album Metalmania—is an upbeat, sweetly nostalgic piece of surf rock with prominent, angular guitar lines and a driving garage rock beat.

The pop-rock trio—who hail from Christchurch, New Zealand—is made up of vocalist/guitarist Joe Sampson, bassist Ben Odering, and drummer Jim Nothing. While playing in other projects, they met up to work on some of Sampson’s tunes, and eventually named themselves after a misheard line from a track by The Feelies.

Check out their new track below, along with the album art and track list for Metalmania, which drops September 18 on Trouble in Mind.
