Stewart Bronaugh and Joshua Jaeger started Lionlimb in 2010, but after they were enlisted by Angel Olsen to play on and tour behind her smash Burn Your Fire For No Witness (one of our favorite records of last year), the band was put on the back-burner. Five years later, Lionlimb now has its first official release (via a FADER premiere)a one-off 7” single of the track “Turnstile”and it has proved worth the wait.

A gentle rock dirge in the canon of Todd Rundgren freak-pop ballads and hyper-melodic Galaxie 500 slow-burns, the track is savagely biting, but very pretty. It’s also the second great song this year to warn of the dangers that come with not paying train fare, however which way the ride manifests itself.

Lionlimb have a few tour dates this month with Whitney (and one with Frankie Cosmos). Check those out below.
