Don’t let their creepy single artwork fool you. Elle Belle has nothing to bring you but good vibes—certainly not curses from the demon girl in The Ring.

Elle Belle is the new solo project of LA artist Christopher Pappas, who invented the Elle Belle identity to escape the frustrations of his previous band, Miracle Parade. The new track “Failed Dreamz,” which we’re premiering today, is an upbeat cut of ’80s pop rock. With big synth chords, a driving beat, and the repeated refrain “I’ve given up / I’ve given up on it,” a song about being let down has never sounded so triumphant.

“Failed Dreamz” comes ahead of the project’s debut album Baptistina I & II, which does not yet have an official release date.
