As Deadline reportsManhattan, WGN America’s impressive and addictive 1940s historical drama, has been renewed for a second season. Set in 1943, the show focuses on the secrets and science of the Manhattan Project during World War II and the race to build the world’s first nuclear bomb. Based in Los Alamos, New Mexico (which, at the time, was a classified government secret), the series’s dramas revolve around the personal and professional lives of the scientists and their families as they live and work in the Atomic City.

In addition to an impressive cast, the series is also notably scored by Jónsi & Alex, which you can sample a snippet of in the opening titles below.

The first season finale airs this Sunday at 10 p.m. on WGN America.
