John Lydon, who has been married for over thirty-five years, is a surprisingly domestic guy, but as you can imagine, he does not enjoy typical household arguments. Such is the topic of “Double Trouble,” the lead single from Public Image Ltd.’s most recent LP What the World Needs Now…, which Lydon used as a vehicle for venting a little (OK, a lot) on Late Show with Stephen Colbert last night.
The vitriolic performance starts with an expletive-filled intro that, in classic Lydon fashion, sets the network censors off like crazy. From there, the band joins in for a PiL performance for the ages, which is capped by a little political advice from the former Sex Pistols frontman.
