Blackalicious‘ 1999 hit “Alphabet Aerobics” remains a technical feat in the history of hip-hop: fifty-two lines of hard-hitting alliteration in alphabetical order, with the tempo notching up incrementally into a slow boil. It was still hot fifteen years after its original release when Daniel Radcliffe dropped a (strangely stilted) version of it on Fallon, and it’s even hotter now that MC Gift of Gab has re-written it to be about sports.

“Sports Alphabet,” which the group seem to have created for no reason other than it being a pretty cool idea, keeps some of the original track’s classic lines but manages to work in a couple of dozen sports references in the process. It comes complete with a delightfully disjointed video that shifts styles as frequently as Gift of Gab shifts letters. Check out the en fuego track below.
