2016. “Yoga Hosers” clip

It’s been a decade since Kevin Smith ventured back into the world of convenience store clerks, but now, instead of just recycling old material (again) and calling it Clerks III, Smith is back in the corner store with a strange new take on his signature genre with Yoga Hosers.

For this, his twelfth film, Smith heads up to Winnipeg to follow the seemingly mundane lives of Colleen Collette (Lily-Rose Depp) and Colleen McKenzie (Harley Quinn Smith)—two high school sophomores who get invited to a sweet senior party by the hottest guy in school. Seems simple enough, but the official synopsis of the film expresses that there’s more to Yoga Hosers than meets the eye: “Two teenage yoga enthusiasts team up with a legendary man-hunter to battle with an ancient evil presence that is threatening their major party plans.” While that doesn’t tell us much about the actual film, IMDb does tell us that the “legendary man-hunter” is none other than Lily-Rose’s father, Johnny Depp.

Check out the first clip of this family affair below, and if you are really concerned with the lack of Jay and Silent Bob, don’t worry, Clerks III is actually happening too.

Yoga Hosers premiered at Sundance on January 24, but plans for a wider release have not been revealed yet.
