LIVE, IN PHOTOS: Baio at El Rey Theatre (2/4/2016)

With his bandmates canvassing the midwest in support of Bernie Sanders—or else quitting the band altogether—Vampire Weekend bassist Chris Baio has been spending his time touring behind his solo LP, The Names. That album is a far cry from the tightly orchestrated pop of his main piece—it’s hard to imagine Ezra Koenig dropping club-ready beats—but it shares a kind of classic melodic perkiness that’s become Vampire Weekend’s stock in trade.
