Violent Femmes have a new record coming out called We Can Do Anything, and as if to prove that maxim, they appeared in a bonus segment on last night’s The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to play their 1983 classic “Blister in the Sun” with a percussion assist from a Weber grill. (Between this and the new washing machine–based Matmos record, it’s been a big week for household appliances.) Colbert, who makes no bones about his love for the Milwaukee trio, joined in for the whisper-scat final chorus.

The group also performed “Memory,” the lead single from We Can Do Anything, which is their first album in over fifteen years. You can watch both videos below.
