Ironically, music school hasn’t proven to be the most fertile breeding ground for pop musicians, but fellow Berklee grads Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig are an exception to the rule. Along with bandmates Dan Molad, Peter Lalish, and Andrew Burri, the soul sisters have been using their formal education to make complex, smart indie-pop as Lucius for the last few years, most recently on 2013’s Wildewoman.
Their second official release, Good Grief, will be out next Friday, March 11, and to hype it up, the band stopped by The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to play “Born Again Teen,” the frenetic lead single from the album. It’s wild.
