Starting next week, we’ll be taking this show on the road—to Austin, Texas, for SXSW specifically—for our second annual FLOODfest at Cedar Street Courtyard. Among the group of highly anticipated acts playing our SXSW showcases next week is up-and-coming Swedish soul singer Adée.

In addition to her performance at our party next week, we’re thrilled to be able to premiere her newest single “World On Fire” this morning. The track, which is featured on her currently untitled EP (and follow-up to 2013’s One Step Closer EP), showcases Adée’s powerful voice going with the flow of the song’s grand orchestration and fanciful, wandering keys line. And while the track’s title might seem a bit dark, Adée insists that her track is intended to be uplifting:

“World On Fire” is a song I wrote about hope; sometimes it’s hard to find because the world can be so hard. I’m very happy about it because it feels like my contribution—some light in a sometimes very dark world.

Listen to “World On Fire” below and make sure to catch Adée on Friday morning at FLOODfest.
