This is one of those movies that doesn’t sound particularly good, doesn’t look particularly good, and yet, still could be pretty good. All you really need to know about The Legend of Tarzan for right now is that Harry Potter visionary David Yates is the director, and Christoph Waltz is the villain. Besides that, it’s Generic Film City, with Alexander Skarsgård (The Diary of a Teenage Girl, True Blood) playing Tarzan and Margot Robbie (The Wolf of Wall Street, Focus) playing Jane. Samuel L. Jackson also has a role, but for whatever reason you only appear to hear his voice in the new trailer.

That trailer, released today, furthers the reveal begun with the teaser trailer that this reboot is a dark, edgy take on what was originally something of a childrens’ story. How dark and edgy a PG movie can really be, however, remains to be seen. You can watch the trailer for yourself below.
