Sure, a little weather wreaked havoc on New York’s Governor’s Ball last weekend, forcing the event organizers to cancel the festival’s third day. But before the rains swept away sets by Kanye West, Bat For Lashes, Vince Staples, and Courtney Barnett, the crowds at Randall’s Island Park were treated to the likes of The Strokes, Beck, Big Grams, Action Bronson, Miguel, M83, and many more.

We sent photographer Orlando de la Cruz backstage at the ball and asked him to put together a series of intimate portraits of some of the fest’s artists. His shots, along with some excellent instant snaps, are below.
