If geography is still to be trusted in this connected day and age, Wilderado come by their sonic identity honestly. The dusky quartet—a pair of Okies and a pair of Texans—beat the trail west to LA, where they forged a sound that’s equal parts high-lonesome dustbowl, White Denim honcho rock, and west coast shimmer.

It’s a sound that’s served them well. Their debut EP, Latigo, was recorded in the titular California canyon with Sufjan Stevens’s longtime drummer James McAlister, and today we’re pleased to be premiering the video for single “Morning Light.” The nostalgic clip cycles through a few dozen vintage vacation clips—from California to the prairies and back again—while the song’s lyrics flash along. Check it out below, then keep scrolling for Latigo’s art and track list.
