Because of the somewhat dubious associations many have with their company name in the past, BitTorrent Inc. has struggled to appear as a friend to the artistic community. But all that’s about to change.

Following the company’s massive success with the release of Thom Yorke’s latest album Tomorrow’s Modern Boxes, TorrentFreak reports that BitTorrent Inc. has announced a new file-sharing method that will allow all artists to receive fair payment for their work.

BitTorrent’s “Bundle” project is a special paywalled torrent format that allows artists to charge consumers for their product. In this model, BitTorrent asks for 10% of revenue and gives the remaining 90% to the artists.

“The value of art shouldn’t be up for debate,” BitTorrent’s chief content officer Matt Mason said in a statement. “Our goal with BitTorrent Bundle is to restore control to creators.”
