Emo stalwarts American Football have teamed up with new school emo queen Hayley Williams of Paramore for the band’s latest single, “Uncomfortably Numb.”
The track is classic American Football, full of feels and chiming guitars alongside mournful vocals and a driving rhythm. As the song progresses, Williams joins singer Mike Kinsella for a dual lead vocal, their voices intertwining in a beautiful fashion.
“Uncomfortably Numb” arrives with a downright depressing music video which features cameos from from actor/comedian Blake Anderson (Workaholics), pro skater Paul Rodriguez, and Samhain drummer London May. Watch it below.
The song is the latest from American Football’s upcoming full-length, American Football (LP3), out March 22 on Polyvinyl.
