We have a new David Bowie.

Actor and musician Johnny Flynn has been cast to portray a young Bowie in upcoming biopic, Stardust.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jena Malone and Marc Maron are among the cast for the film that will chronicle Bowie’s 1971 trip to America, where he was inspired to create the iconic “Ziggy Stardust” persona. Gabriel Range (Death of a President) will direct.

TV and film aficionados might recognize Flynn from his roles on Netflix rom-com series Lovesick, as well as the NatGeo show, Genius, where he played young Albert Einstein. The actor is currently on Amazon’s period piece adaptation series, Vanity Fair.

Flynn’s musical career is extensive. He has several albums to his credit, including last year’s Live at the Roundhouse, recorded in London. Let’s hope he’s up to the challenge of becoming Bowie.
