If anyone could fully capture some crucial moments of America’s pastime, it’s Bryan Cranston. In a six-minute TBS promotion for the MLB postseason, he combines his passion for baseball and theater by dramatizing the sport in a one-man show. Cranston plays a semi-fictionalized version of himself, taking on some challenging roles of the baseball world, and trying to overcome the obstacles of fully personifying every aspect of the sport.
Of course, like any good drama, this one doesn’t go without some bumps on the road. He hits an audience member in the face with a baseball, gets distracted by the loud vendor, gets pied in the face, and is booed loudly (though all he hears are sweet cheers in his head). It all ends with an over-the-top narration of “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” that earns him a standing ovation. Well done, Cranston.
