Yes, the rumors are true: the Super Bowl is happening this Sunday.

While the city of Atlanta deals with what is now Super Bowl Week and a rare genuinely cold snap in the weather, local guy turned global superstar, Big Boi of OutKast, is all up in the mix.

The rapper is set to join Maroon 5 and Travis Scott during the big Super Bowl halftime show, a controversial move considering the NFL’s current “issues” with former 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick (Cardi B and Rihanna both turned down invitations to perform in solidarity with Kaepernick).

Like Gladys Knight, Big Boi has chosen to soldier on and take part in the official Super Bowl festivities.

While we’re all paying attention, he’s wisely chosen to offer up a pair of brand new tracks.

“Return of the Dope Boi” features fellow Atlanta rap hero and frequent OutKast collaborator Killer Mike of Run the Jewels, as well as rapper Backbone, trading verses over a spaced-out beat. Listen to it below.

“Doin’ It” sees Big Boy team up with another Atlanta star and friend of OutKast, Sleepy Brown, with the two rapping over a bouncy piano beat that sounds like it was lifted from an early ’80s sitcom (a compliment, obviously). Check it out here.

As is all of that wasn’t enough, today—February 1—is Big Boi’s birthday. Happy Birthday, buddy!
