In case word hasn’t made it to you, it is our duty to inform you that Red Hot Chili Peppers played the Grammys last night with Post Malone. The two artists teamed up for a rendition of RHCP’s “Dark Necessities,” from an album they evidently released in 2016 called The Getaway. We’re sorry, but this is just information you need to know.

Post warmed up the crowd with an acoustic take on “Stay” before seemingly getting lost in one of those weird, cavernous labyrinths between the locker room and the swimming pool for a quick verse from“Rockstar” (wait, where was 21 Savage again?). Eventually he was able to regroup with the classic rock four-piece comprised of not-Will Ferrell, the guy from Psycho (1998), not-John Frusciante, and, of course, Anthony Kiedis’ weird haircut. The evening wouldn’t have been complete without a cameo from the singer’s Iggy-Pop leathery torso and faded tattoos, a reminder of the slightly unsettling physique our rock gods brandished in a time before February 3, 2019.
