It’s always interesting to look at an artist through the eyes of their fans. In the case of Aphex Twin, his fan base is as rabid, obsessive, and downright weird as they come. I would know.
So it comes as no surprise that between Coachella weekend appearances, Aphex Twin (a.k.a. Richard D. James) has done something surprising and set up an actual pop-up shop in relatively nearby downtown Los Angeles.

The “Retail Opportunity II,” as the shop is coined, will be active April 16-17 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. There will be a variety of official Aphex Twin merchandise for sale, including umbrellas, hoodies, “Donkey Rhubarb” teddy bears, and even a logo beach towel. I like the logo beach towel. A lot. See the photo below for a glimpse of the offerings.
The shop is located at 1031 N. Broadway, Los Angeles, CA, 90012. They only accept card payments, so be prepared.
