We’ve remained faithful viewers of The Walking Dead since its premiere in 2010, gluing our eyes to the television screen every week to find out who’s next to bite the dust…or bite another character. As intriguing as it’s been watching zombie happenings spanning slightly beyond the borders of Georgia’s state line, that nagging curiosity of how the rest of the world is coping with the infestation hasn’t subsided in our minds. Now it seems like we’ll finally have some answers.

The West Coast will be getting some well-deserved and highly-anticipated undead treatment within a brand new Walking Dead spinoff, which will (allegedly) shed some light on the chaos that ensued during the early days of the apocalypse.

TWD creator Robert Kirkman is writing the potential spinoff, which is currently in the pilot stage and set to shoot in early 2015 (and ninety-nine-point-nine-percent guaranteed to be pushed to full series). Fellow Dead-creators Gale Anne Hurd, David Alpert, and David Erickson will join Kirkman as executive producers for the show.

AMC hasn’t commented on the exact setting of the spinoff, but it’s hard not to start envisioning a post-zombie-apocalyptic City of Angels: full of rotting celebrities, beaches covered in dismembered body parts, and studio backlots turned into boarded up shelters from walkers. Better stock-up on your weaponry, Los Angeles!
