Now this is going to be interesting. After making studio magic with a cavalcade of artists ranging from Johnny Cash and Tom Petty to the Beastie Boys and Red Hot Chili Peppers, producer to the stars Rick Rubin is twiddling the knobs on the upcoming album from Run the Jewels.

The rap duo of Killer Mike and El-P shared an update from their time with the production legend via the band’s newsletter.

“We’ve been going hard on RTJ4 and have a genuine excitement to share new music with you all,” the group relayed. “We stand behind our statement that this record is going to punch you in the fucking face and burn everything in its path. We thank you for your continued patience as we put together what we believe will be our best record yet.”

The newsletter update follows news that they’ve teamed up with Rubin on social media last month.
