For some very strange reason, the Universal Studios locations in Hollywood and Orlando have decided to tap Jordan Peele’s 2019 film Us for their latest Halloween Horror Nights attraction. In Peele’s sophomore horror film (following 2017’s Oscar-winning Get Out), jumpsuit-clad doppelgängers rise from beneath the earth to murder their living counterparts with scissors.

If we’re going by that, Universal must be planning to conjure clones of every attendee, then get those clones to stalk and terrorize these guests. I’m not convinced this is a good idea.

Us follows a family of four led by mother Adelaide, who is played with balletic violence by Lupita Nyong’o. According to a Universal press release, the Us maze at this year’s Horror fest grants you the opportunity to step inside a house of mirrors and come face-to-face with your vengeful double, just as Adelaide does.

The event’s advertising trailer features the eerie remix of Luniz’s “I Got 5 On It,” which serves as the film’s theme song and also as the soundtrack to my nightmares.

This year’s Horror Nights begin in September. You can buy tickets here if you really think that’s a good idea.
