Big Thief certainly don’t waste any time. They’ve just announced Two Hands, their second album of 2019, a suspiciously speedy follow-up to one of our favorites so far this year, May release U.F.O.F. The band recorded Two Hands just days after they finished the former album at the Sonic Ranch studio outside El Paso; it was recorded live with almost no overdubs, promising sparse, deserty vibes.

In a statement, lead songstress Adrianne Lenker claims, “Two Hands has the songs that I’m the most proud of; I can imagine myself singing them when I’m old. Musically and lyrically, you can’t break it down much further than this. It’s already bare-bones.”

“Not,” a song the band has played live on multiple occasions, will be on the new album and is available to hear today. Big Thief have announced an extended tour too, with philanthropic inclinations: one dollar from every ticket sold in the U.S. will go to Little Kids Rock and Youth Speaks.

Two Hands is out October 11 via 4AD, and you can pre-order it here. Find a full list of tour dates below.
