Preservation Hall Jazz Band are to the New Orleans music scene what Jack Nicholson is to a Lakers game. The jazz collective have been sitting front-and-center in their city’s music scene for half a decade, reinforcing associations between NOLA’s French Quarter, from which they take their name, and the bustling, brassy jazz the city has come to be known for.

On the heels of their recent documentary A Tuba to Cuba, the group has teamed up with rapper Pell, another NOLA native, for an Original Tracks reworking of “Keep Your Head Up” from the film’s Sub Pop–released soundtrack. As they make their way through the French Quarter, you’d be surprised to learn the track is the product of Pell and Pres Hall’s first meeting, the pairing feeling as natural as chicory and beignets.

Make sure to catch A Tuba to Cuba (and its soundtrack), streaming now—and shop the Original Penguin looks as seen in the video here.
