At the first of Kacey Musgraves’ two sold-out Radio City Music Hall shows last night, the legendary Gloria Gaynor joined her onstage to sing “I Will Survive,” Gaynor’s signature self-reliance anthem (and one of the only songs that literally everyone in any audience would know the lyrics to—with or without expletives).

Kacey asked her fans to welcome “the queen of disco,” and Gaynor told the excited crowd, “I recorded this song in 1978, forty years ago, and I can’t tell you how pleased I am that Kacey is carrying on the tradition, helping you all to survive.”

Clearly, duets are a thing Gaynor enjoys; on her latest album Testimony (out now), she partnered with everyone from gospel vocalist Yolanda Adams, to Mike Farris, Bart Millard (MercyMe), and Jason Crabb. The record centers on God and Gaynor’s strong Christian faith.
