Boutique LA festival Mercado Sagrado, described as “a creative and healing arts fair,” is set to go off November 16 and 17 this year at King Gillette Ranch in Malibu Canyon. The two-day family-friendly event will feature panels, talks, workshops, and live music, seeking to act as a “counterculture Coachella.”

Heather Culp founded Mercado back in 2014, and has since grown the fair from five hundred attendees that year to well over four thousand in 2018. The 2019 music lineup includes Australian psych band Babe Rainbow and LA artists Claude Fontaine, Anna St. Louis, Mapache, and Matt Taylor from The Growlers. The food area (called “Nourishment”) will play host to LA restaurants providing health-conscious food, and the kids area is co-programmed by LA organization EverWild, whose learning programs encourage connection with the earth and aim to build a lifelong affinity for sustainability and environmentalism.
