Last year, the LA-based band members and real life friends that comprise Dear Boy (vocalist Ben Grey, guitarist Austin Hayman, drummer Keith Cooper, and bassist Lucy Lawrence) released The Strawberry EP, embarked on a North American tour with The Psychedelic Furs & James, and brought out a standalone single called “Heaven Moves.”

Now, to kick off 2020, they have a brand new single. “The Nominee” is out via the band’s own label Easy Hell and Burnside/The Orchard, and it’s self-produced, but re-teams the group with mixer Tony Hoffer (Air, Phoenix, M83).

Explains singer Ben Grey, “‘The Nominee’ is a song about rejecting or accepting fate. That feeling of finally figuring out what your purpose in life is and then having to decide whether you want it or not.”

Dear Boy are currently hard at work on their follow-up to The Strawberry EP. In the meantime, check out “The Nominee” below.
