Despite the three-and-a-half-year gap between LPs three and four, Phantogram have kept listeners content with a slew of singles since 2016’s Three, an album which saw the duo of Sarah Barthel and Josh Carter continue to advance their unique brand of trip-hop to incorporate elements of alt-R&B.

Today the group is officially unveiling details on their fourth album: Ceremony hits stores March 6 via their longtime home of Republic Records. Of the title, Barthel explained in a press statement that “‘Ceremony’ is what Phantogram is to us. Everyone has their own ceremony and they don’t have to relate to anyone else’s, but Phantogram is our ceremony: our process, our ritual. Playing shows is our ceremony for everyone. And for us.”

Recent singles “In a Spiral,” “Mister Impossible,” and “Into Happiness” all make an appearance on the tracklist, as well as a brand new song debuting today called “Pedestal.” The new track starts off quiet before exploding into a frantic electronic beat—something worlds apart from the lethargic glitch-pop of their hypnotic debut.
