With its Rotten Tomatoes ranking currently sitting at a cool one-hundred percent, Ex Machina premiered in the UK this week, marking the much overdue beginning of sci-fi superstar Alex Garland’s directorial career (the frequent Danny Boyle collaborator was the writer behind 28 Days Later and Sunshine, not to mention the original novel version of The Beach).

Normally, this would be enough of a story on its own, but in the case of Ex Machina, there’s another car attached to the hype-train, this one being driven by the fact that two of its stars—Oscar Isaac and Domhnall Gleeson—are also starring in a little movie you may have heard of called Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens.

And though Gleeson has admitted to not having even seen the original trilogy prior to landing the major role, 2015 seems poised to be a career-defining year for both stars, Isaac in particular. (Did you see A Most Violent Year yet? Go see A Most Violent Year.)

Not convinced? Decide for yourself and check out the trailer for Ex Machina below, which is premiering in the US at SXSW ahead of its April 10 release date.
