Neil Young, like many Americans, is worried. His concern isn’t stopping him from sharing love and light to his fans, which today arrives in the form of a new song, “Shut It Down 2020.” The tune is actually a reworking of the track “Shut It Down,” originally found on his 2019 full-length with Crazy Horse, Colorado. It arrives with a new music video, created by Young and his wife, actress Daryl Hannah.

“These are uncertain times. I wish you all the best as you care for our sick, the young and old who we love so much,” Young shared with the release of the new track. “Sending the best wishes to all the health care and government workers all over the world, to all the scientists who will learn and share with us the best ways to ensure survival in our world challenged. Let’s all work together and stay positive that we will find a way. With love to all, in all walks of life, all political persuasions, all colors. We will succeed working together for the good of our world as we are here together, hanging in the balance of nature.”

The new project follows Young posting the second of a planned series of “Fireside Sessions” live stream events (the third of which will be coming soon). The launch coincided with the rocker making his subscription website free to public for the time being.
