We almost made it through an entire week in January without having a “brand-new” festival lineup announced and, to be honest, the tiny-print withdrawals were beginning to set in. Thankfully, Spain’s always-on-point Primavera Sound came through with an excellent addition to the summer festivities.
For its fifteenth anniversary, the Barcelona event has nabbed some exclusive (as of this moment) festival acts including The Strokes, Spiritualized, and Sleater-Kinney. While Primavera’s bill does have some overlap with lineup of previously announced festivals—including performances by The Black Keys, Belle and Sebastian, and Caribou, to name a few—the Spanish fest boasts the one and only Patti Smith performing Horses in its entirety with her band, which will certainly be something not to miss.
