Nana Adjoa has been crafting soft rock singles for several years now, with no LPs yet under the young Dutch songwriter’s belt. Yet her resolute ballads wrestling with race, gender, and sexuality have earned her slots opening for the likes of Benjamin Clementine and Neneh Cherry, surely accruing a well-earned audience along the way.
Today Adjoa launches yet another loose single, this one via the newly minted singles label WILDER, formed by her agent Tom Windish and indie label Future Classic. “She’s Stronger” is a sweeping dream-pop-by-way-of-folk-rock cut contemplating the songwriter’s self worth. “I used to think of myself as a pretty independent person,” she shares. “And then you meet someone, a woman, who is actually really that person you imagined yourself to be. She’s stronger, better, more real, more independent, more free, more everything. She’s a version of yourself you want to be.”
