For better or for worse, this pandemic has given us plenty of time to think things over. For some of us, this includes existential thoughts about our relationships that we may not have previously considered. “Where do you draw the line? When do you pull the plug? How do you know if the juice is worth the squeeze?” Australian jangle-rockers San Cisco contemplate these questions and more on “On the Line,” the trio’s first new single since their Flaws EP was released earlier this year.

“The game of love is never an easy one to play,” Jordi Davieson continues. “Do you pick up the pieces and move on to something new? Or stick it out for another round of romance?” Despite the inner turmoil plaguing the track’s lyrics, the five-minute jingle is a smooth ride, channeling more of the SoCal lineage of jangle pop than Australasia’s, sounding more Jonathan Rado than Dunedin.

“Like many of the songs from our forthcoming record, ‘On the Line’ has been through many different stages,” Davieson concludes. “It almost didn’t make it on the record. It wasn’t until we revisited it at home from a different angle that everything fell into place and it turned into a gem. We all connect deeply with this song and its sentiment and we think others will too.”

Stream the track below, and anticipate a full LP from San Cisco in the near future.
