We’ve been waiting for Karen O to release Crush Songs for quite some time now. It’s her first solo album, featuring a collection of stripped down, intimate songs. While we have had a taste of this side of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ frontwoman thanks to her work in Spike Jonze’s movies, but Crush Songs is a beautiful twenty-five minute LP that is purely Karen O. It’s a soothing alternative to the frenetic energy of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and worthy of welcoming into your ears and your hearts.

You can head over to NPR to stream the full album now, and then pick it up on September 9 (via Cult Records).
