Lower Dens have announced that their new record Escape from Evil will be released on March 31 via Ribbon Music. This is the band’s first album since 2012’s Nootropics.

The Baltimore-based outfit, led by Jana Hunter, are known for their emotive, textured, murky approach to songwriting, but if their bouncy new single is any indication, it seems that the new record will be a significant step forward for the band stylistically. Despite its fatalistic title, “To Die in L.A.” is an upbeat pop track, filled with earworm synth lines, shimmery guitar strokes, and straightforward melodies. Check it out below, along with Escape from Evil‘s album art and tracklist.
