IFC has announced that Kid Cudi will replace Reggie Watts as Scott Aukerman‘s musical co-host on Comedy Bang! Bang! starting this summer. Watts, who, along with his majestic afro, has provided comedic and musical accompaniment to the show’s first three seasons, will leave halfway through the fourth to take up the position as bandleader on The Late Late Show with James Corden.

In a press release, Aukerman said, “I can’t wait to start this new chapter of Comedy Bang! Bang! with Kid Cudi. When he was on the couch, I knew he had charisma and star quality, but I thought he should move slightly camera right. Plus, my wife and I have been trying to have a kid for several years, and this is the next best thing.”

Before officially stepping into the co-star seat on July 10, Kid Cudi stopped by Comedy Bang! Bang! as a couch guest last week. Watch Aukerman and Cudi discuss concert attendance etiquette and channel Prince from that episode below.
