After the severely un-mathematical announcement that Adventure Time creator Pendleton Ward was stepping down to a lesser role in the making of Cartoon Network’s weirdest (and best) “kids’ show,” this weekend brought with it the much happier, much more algebraic news that Warner Brothers has signed on to bring Finn and Jakes’s exploits in the Land of Ooo to the big screen.

Details are still very sparse, but it has been revealed that Ward will be involved as a writer and producer, and Chris McKay and Roy Lee (who both worked on our favorite “kids’ movie” from last year, The Lego Movie) will produce.

And though there’s still no plot or release date yet, we can at least confirm that the movie will be animated (and rightfully so).

As they say: That’s some funky junk, brother.
