PREMIERE: HARAM Draw First “دم Blood” in Fourth Season of Pickathon’s Slab Sessions

Kicking off a new season of the festival video series, the hardcore punks raze the Pickathon Slab in under two minutes.

If HARAM isn’t your favorite Arabic-speaking hardcore punk band, props to you for knowing your Arabic-speaking hardcore punk bands. With recognition from Pitchfork, Stereogum, and New York’s Joint Terrorism Task Force, the rising NYC-based four-piece’s songs are as quick as they are intense, and have become increasingly anti-extremist as their profile has grown among prominent music sites and misinformed government agencies.

That said, who better to kick off a brand new season of Pickathon Slab Sessions? In under two minutes, HARAM cook up one of the most intense and theatrical seshes to date, blazing through their شو بتشوف؟ What Do You See? cut “دم Blood” in a blur of skulls, studded belts, and fishnets. Contrasting with the tranquil greens of their venue, “دم Blood” is an elegy to the chaotic stage presence of punk’s wildest figures—and unapologetically horrifying to xenophobes.

As always, this episode of the Slab Sessions was produced by the excellent folks at Half Stop Sessions.
