screencap of Ty Segall’s “The Singer” music video.

Ty Segall, garage rock’s current commander-in-chief, has followed up the interactive video for Manipulator‘s self-titled track with a spooky basement seance.

The video for “The Singer,” directed by frequent collaborator Matt Yoka, shows a stony-faced Ty surrounded by yard-sale rummage and the wispy blue ghosts of his bandmates (Return of the Jedi, anyone?). The steady waltz gives way to an inevitable guitar solo that is, well, uplifting, to say the least.
